Business Need
With increasing number of dealerships and technicians coupled with attrition in existing manpower, the technical training load and training budget of the customer was continuously on the rise. Large number of the technical training sessions conducted at the training centres of the customer were of basic or periodic maintenance training. This was keeping a big part of infrastructure and training staff occupied. Customer was looking for solution to decrease training budget without diluting the training effectiveness.
Our Solution
To overcome this situation Blend Consulting offered to create the dealer in-house periodic maintenance training kit in Computer Based Training (CBT) and Video Based Training (VBT) formats. The kit was aimed to equip the dealer in-house trainers with high quality customized training material helping them to conduct the training in a structured & effective way at the dealerships without even having in-depth subject knowledge and training experience. Kit also contained the fundamental automotive training material to build knowledge of newly inducted technicians from scratch. Kit was developed with simple and easy to understand instruction design using a large number of animations for effective learning.
Results
The kit helped the customer to reduce duration of basic and periodic maintenance training module to just one day, which is used to conduct assessment of the participant knowledge after receiving the training at the dealership. This resulted in following benefits to the customer.
